Although we love a beautiful blush wedding full of fragrant florals, shimmery linens and frilly touches, sometimes it’s just refreshing to peel back the wedding layers in order to reveal a more organic approach to wedding decor. Last Saturday’s wedding definitely capitalized on showcasing the natural elements with bountiful greenery and succulent centerpieces.
Lets not forget about the charitable component with donations going to two worthy causes. The couple also wanted to share their love of animals with their guests by offering cat and dog favor bags. Another fab touch, Attitude on Food created a cookie dough waffle station…need we say more?
Since we can’t stop oohing and awing over this fabulous wedding, we’ll let the photos continue the conversation.

Despite the horrendous winter weather that keeps looming around Omaha, the spring 2018 wedding season is in full bloom!
For couples still putting the finishing touches on their springtime nuptials, we’re excited to showcase some of our favorite sunny shades that embrace brighter, more cheerful days!
Think peach, yellow and tangerine! Brides and grooms can incorporate these warm hues in everything from their signature drink to accents in their bouquets and boutonnieres.
When incorporating bright hues such as yellow, tangerine and peach, think simple. Color contrast is where it’s at, so a minimal approach is best. Sometimes all you need is just a sprinkle of sunshine to embrace the warmth that springtime brings.
Scoular Ballroom’s event assistant, JoAnna LeFlore, recommends the following ways to incorporate these bright, cheerful springtime colors:
- Display your favorite accent by tying colored ribbons around your napkins.
- Embrace your color by featuring it in Scoular Ballroom’s up-lighting.
- Play around with fashionable accents such as hairpieces and/or jewelry.
- Add a pinch of pizzazz to a floral bouquet or feature a colorful table runner on the head table.
- Create a dessert around your color such as a macaroon display or wedding cake.
- Don’t forget the beverages! Signature drinks in your accent color will keep your guests fashionably refreshed.

When creatives collaborate, dreams come true! Back in the fall of 2016, we had a light bulb moment while speaking with our catering partner Attitude on Food. Attitude on Food had always wanted to host an epic event in our historic ballroom. We toyed around with a variety of ideas, but nothing ever seemed quite right. It wasn’t until Nathan Newhouse and Melissa Tibben started brainstorming with their creative staff and culinary team that an idea slowly became a spark that would eventually light a flame within each of us. This flame became our burning passion; our dreams come to realization.
We wanted this event to revival something that you could only witness in Las Vegas or New York. If we were going to commit to something, it had to be epic. If guests didn’t leave with their minds blown and their jaws hanging on the floor, it wasn’t done right.
After much discussion, Attitude on Food and the Scoular Ballroom decided we needed to bring in a team of creative minds; people whose execution would match our vision. In time, a team was assembled and after months and months of planning, our collective vision became an amazing night full of culinary surprises and delightful entertainment.
Sixty guests enjoyed a five course meal prepared by Attitude on Food that featured edible flowers and dirt, lighting clams on fire, and a deconstructed fruit cake (just to name a few). Each course was paired with a craft cocktail also prepared by Attitude on Food. The entertainment for the evening included an energetic band, DJ, tap dancers, baton twirlers and so much more that was provided by Omaha Musicians Live and Image Entertainment.
