The Engaged Brunch

Don’t miss your opportunity to attend Omaha’s interactive wedding planning experience for newly engaged couples happening on Jan. 25, 2020 from 10 am-noon at the Scoular Ballroom!

If you’re tired of the traditional bridal shows where all you do is collect pamphlets as you maneuver through a sea of potential vendors, then this event is for you. Don’t just observe; be apart of the wedding planning experience!

The Engaged Brunch will feature interactive stations from some of Omaha’s best wedding vendors, plus brunch bites and drinks from Attitude on Food and Catering Creations.

What’s an interactive station? We’re glad you asked! During the event, you’ll be able to walk away with more than a business card. Instead, you’ll leave with an experience and lots of wedding goodies!

Participate in a cupcake and frosting pairing! Try a protein donut and cold-pressed juices. Grab a coffee or smoothie! Watch a live event painter in action. Build your own mini bouquet and learn how to pin a boutonniere. Get some false lashes put on and have your hair styled in a braid. Enjoy live entertainment and take a ballroom dance lesson. You can also have your portrait professionally taken. Don’t forget the photo and wax seal station. Finally, unwind after the event by attending a yoga session focused on reducing stress during wedding planning.

There will also be a panel discussion featuring local wedding experts. These experts will be available to answer all of your wedding planning questions.

Check out the schedule:

Keeping it Organic

Although we love a beautiful blush wedding full of fragrant florals, shimmery linens and frilly touches, sometimes it’s just refreshing to peel back the wedding layers in order to reveal a more organic approach to wedding decor. Last Saturday’s wedding definitely capitalized on showcasing the natural elements with bountiful greenery and succulent centerpieces.

Lets not forget about the charitable component with donations going to two worthy causes. The couple also wanted to share their love of animals with their guests by offering cat and dog favor bags. Another fab touch, Attitude on Food created a cookie dough waffle station…need we say more?

Since we can’t stop oohing and awing over this fabulous wedding, we’ll let the photos continue the conversation.

De~Light Your Senses Take Two

The Scoular Ballroom, along with Fade-Up Design GroupImage Entertainment, Omaha Musicians Live, Attitude on Food, MAK Images Photography, Creative Fleurs, Paramount Parking, AAA Rents & Event Services, and DSY Invitations, hosted one of the most epic dining events that Omaha has ever witnessed.

Thanks to MAK Images Photography for capturing these amazing images and time lapse video of our entire event from set-up to completion! Enjoy!

De~Light Your Senses-A Dining Experience Unlike Any Other

When creatives collaborate, dreams come true! Back in the fall of 2016, we had a light bulb moment while speaking with our catering partner Attitude on Food. Attitude on Food had always wanted to host an epic event in our historic ballroom. We toyed around with a variety of ideas, but nothing ever seemed quite right. It wasn’t until Nathan Newhouse and Melissa Tibben started brainstorming with their creative staff and culinary team that an idea slowly became a spark that would eventually light a flame within each of us. This flame became our burning passion; our dreams come to realization.

We wanted this event to revival something that you could only witness in Las Vegas or New York. If we were going to commit to something, it had to be epic. If guests didn’t leave with their minds blown and their jaws hanging on the floor, it wasn’t done right.

After much discussion, Attitude on Food and the Scoular Ballroom decided we needed to bring in a team of creative minds; people whose execution would match our vision. In time, a team was assembled and after months and months of planning, our collective vision became an amazing night full of culinary surprises and delightful entertainment.

Sixty guests enjoyed a five course meal prepared by Attitude on Food that featured edible flowers and dirt, lighting clams on fire, and a deconstructed fruit cake (just to name a few). Each course was paired with a craft cocktail also prepared by Attitude on Food. The entertainment for the evening included an energetic band, DJ, tap dancers, baton twirlers and so much more that was provided by Omaha Musicians Live and Image Entertainment.

A special shoutout to the following vendors for showcasing their fabulous skills:

Fade Up Design Group  (Lighting)

Image Entertainment (DJ and emcee)

Omaha Musicians Live (Entertainment coordination)

Creative Fleurs (Flowers and decor)

AAA Rents & Event Services  (Rental items including linens, glassware, flatware, china, tables and bar stools)

DSY Invitations (Invitations)

Attitude on Food (Food, cocktails and event coordination)

Scoular Ballroom (Venue and event coordination)

Paramount Parking (Valet services)

MAK Images Photography (Photography and video)

Here’s a snippet from the night…Stay tuned for professional photos and video in the coming weeks!

Over the weekend, we hosted a gorgeous wedding reception that featured touches of fall in the most romantic way!

Kudos goes out to Tracey Fricke of Occasion Designed, Attitude on Food, Flowers for Special Occasions, and Jones Bros Cupcakes for the cake and cupcakes. Rentals provided by United Rent-All. Blog photos by Tracey Fricke of Occasion Designed.
